TWMA, a global leader in drilling waste management, has announced the first receipt of drill cuttings at its newly constructed treatment facility in Habshan, Abu Dhabi, marking a significant milestone for the UAE’s energy and environmental services sector.
Construction of the facility commenced in late Q1 2025. The site is now operational as the world’s most advanced and self-sustaining drilling waste management facility of its kind. Built to support more than 100 rigs for a major UAE operator, the facility has the capacity to process up to 300 tonnes of drill cuttings per day.
The facility is powered by two of TWMA’s world-leading RX Series RotoMill™ units, combining state-of-the-art material handling with intelligent, real-time tracking and analytics through TWMA’s Xlink™ digital platform. Its sustainably powered plant and treatment systems are engineered to minimise environmental impact, while the modular design enables seamless expansion to three RotoMill units as operational demand and regional activity increase.
In addition to its technical capabilities, the Habshan site has been designed as a safe, inclusive, and high-quality workplace, supporting TWMA’s workforce in delivering operations safely, efficiently, and with pride.
Halle Aslaksen, Chief Executive Officer at TWMA, commented:
“This facility showcases the strength of our engineering teams, the capability of our people, and the scale of infrastructure required to deliver world-class drilling waste management services to the region.
The facility in Habshan, internally named “The Oryx”, demonstrates what is possible when advanced engineering and a culture of continuous improvement come together. We are very excited for the future as we continue to redefine industry standards in the Middle East.”
