Mastercard Partners with HyperPay to Roll Out Commercial Cards in Saudi Arabia

Expansion to UAE and Qatar to strengthen SME payment solutions across the region

Mastercard has joined forces with HyperPay, one of the leading payment gateway providers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), to drive the digital transformation of business payments in Saudi Arabia.

The partnership will begin with the launch of commercial cards in Saudi Arabia, with future expansion plans targeting the UAE and Qatar. These cards are designed to help businesses particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) enhance expense management, streamline payments, and boost operational efficiency.

As part of this effort, HyperPay has also secured approval for an Electronic Money Institute (EMI) license, enabling the company to further support the digitisation of payments across the SME ecosystem.

Saud Swar, Country Manager for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, and other Levant markets at Mastercard, said:

“With thriving digital economies being built on the foundation of an innovative payments ecosystem, our collaboration with HyperPay aims to empower merchants, SMEs and the wider business community with commercial cards that safeguard their futures and foster economic growth,”

Muhannad Ebwini, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HyperPay, added:

“Since 2022, we have worked closely with Mastercard to accelerate the digital transformation of the payments ecosystem in the region. Our latest collaboration marks another significant step forward on our collective journey towards regional growth.”

The commercial cards will debut in Saudi Arabia before being rolled out to businesses in the UAE and Qatar, supporting wider regional adoption of secure and innovative digital payment solutions.
