Careem Pay has expanded its international remittance service to include Canada and Bangladesh, enabling UAE residents to send money directly to bank accounts in both countries.
The platform now supports transfers to more than 35 countries, covering key remittance corridors such as India, Pakistan, Europe, the UK, and the Philippines, strengthening its position in the region’s digital payments ecosystem.
Some transfers can be completed in as little as seven seconds, while Careem Plus members benefit from preferential exchange rates.
For Canada, customers can transfer up to AED 150,000 per transaction and AED 450,000 per month, with funds sent in Canadian Dollars (CAD) directly to Canadian bank accounts.
For Bangladesh, customers can transfer up to AED 90,000 per transaction and AED 200,000 per month, with funds sent in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) directly to local bank accounts.
To encourage adoption, new customers sending AED 2,000 or more to Canada can receive 1% cashback, capped at AED 100, by using the promotional code “CANADA”.
“We’re excited to extend our money transfer service to two important expat communities in the UAE. From supporting families and covering school fees to managing properties and financial commitments back home, we wanted to make cross-border transfers simpler, faster, and more affordable for both Canadian and Bangladeshi expats.”
said Mohammad El Saadi, VP of Careem Pay.
The launch aligns with the holiday season, a period during which UAE remittances typically rise by around 20%, driven by increased family support and overseas financial commitments.
Careem Pay’s digital wallet enables users to access international money transfers, peer-to-peer payments, bill payments, and other financial services. Users can initiate a transfer by opening the latest version of the Careem app and selecting ‘Pay’ from the home screen.
