Yango Group and noon, a leading regional e-commerce platform, have partnered to deploy autonomous delivery robots across the UAE. This initiative marks the transition from pilot trials to full-scale commercial operations, initially serving noon Minutes customers in Dubai.
The rollout will focus on the Sobha Hartland community, with plans to expand across the UAE and wider GCC, informed by operational performance and customer feedback.
Developed by Yango Autonomy, the electric delivery robots can independently plan routes, navigate obstacles, and yield to pedestrians. Customers can select the robot delivery option in the noon app, track its progress in real time, and unlock the secure compartment via smartphone. The robots have already completed over 1,500 kilometres of autonomous travel in Dubai pilot trials.
Ali Kafil-Hussain, Chief Business Officer at noon, said:
“Partnering with Yango Group lets us bring a future-ready delivery option straight to our customers. Autonomous robots add a smart, sustainable layer to our last-mile network. They give us extra delivery capacity during peak times, help keep service levels consistent, reduce emissions and congestion, and create an experience that feels natural for customers who already live their lives through digital solutions.”
Islam Abdul Karim, Regional Head at Yango Group Middle East, added:
“By combining Yango Group’s expertise in AI-powered delivery with noon’s presence in e-commerce, we can support cities, businesses, and regulators on their journey to smarter mobility and more sustainable digital cities.”
The initiative received approval from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), allowing the robots to operate safely on public walkways and within residential areas. This collaboration highlights the growing adoption of autonomous delivery technology in the UAE, combining innovation, sustainability, and seamless customer experiences.
