Gulfood 2026 launches grocery trade platform to accelerate Middle East retail distribution

DUBAI, UAE – January 24, 2026 — Organizers of Gulfood announced Gulfood Grocery Trade within Gulfood 2026 to power retail, wholesale, and FMCG distribution across the Middle East. The platform targets rising grocery demand and modern retail expansion, spanning 280,000 square meters with 8,500+ exhibitors from 195 countries at Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai from January 26-30, 2026.

Deal specifics

Gulfood 2026 marks the 31st edition of the trade show, expanding across Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Exhibition Centre. The event introduces five first-time sectors, with dedicated focus on grocery, private label, and FMCG categories for manufacturers, distributors, and buyers. UAE grocery retail reaches $40 billion annually at 6.5% growth, while Middle East online grocery projects $327 billion by 2032.

Regional exhibitors include Agro Blend, Ajman Chamber, and Dubai Industrial City. International pavilions feature China, Malaysia, and Türkiye among participating nations.

The platform addresses volume-driven growth requirements in regional supply chains, positioning Dubai as a distribution hub for food and beverage sectors across the Gulf Cooperation Council markets.

Industry context

Middle East retail channels are evolving rapidly through population growth, urbanization, and import-dependent supply chains. Grocery trade infrastructure ensures product availability, price stability, and supply chain resilience across GCC markets. The sector’s expansion reflects broader economic diversification strategies in the region, where food security remains a strategic priority for governments managing import dependencies.

The event serves as a commercial platform for scale and partnerships, connecting global suppliers with regional distributors. Dubai’s logistics infrastructure and free zone networks support the emirate’s role as a re-export hub, with the grocery trade platform reinforcing existing distribution advantages in the Middle East and North Africa corridor.

Outlook

Gulfood 2026 targets strengthened regional partnerships and supply chain resilience ahead of the five-day event. The platform aligns with accelerating FMCG distribution channels, though transaction volumes and specific commercial outcomes remain undisclosed at launch.
